AGS Airports has confirmed the appointment of Gavin Williams as Managing Director – Operations at Glasgow Airport, effective 1 January 2026. Williams moves from Southampton Airport, where he has held the same role since February 2024.
He will report directly to Ronald Leitch, Chief Operating Officer at AGS Airports, and will take up his position during a period of strategic development for Glasgow Airport.
Williams brings significant operational experience from across the UK airport sector. Before joining AGS, he spent five years with Manchester Airports Group (MAG), working in operational leadership roles at East Midlands Airport, London Stansted Airport and Manchester Airport.
Ronald Leitch, Chief Operating Officer at AGS, said: “During his time at Southampton, Gavin has demonstrated strong leadership, overseeing passenger growth and the addition of a host of new routes. He will join Glasgow at what will be a pivotal moment in its development as we embark on our ambitious terminal transformation and expansion programme. This will see us deliver best in class operational and retail facilities for the millions of passengers who travel through our airport, and I am looking forward to working with Gavin in the years ahead.”
Commenting on his appointment, Gavin said: “This is an exciting time for Glasgow Airport, and I am relishing the opportunity of leading the team as we undertake what will be the largest capital investment programme in the airport’s history.”

Earlier in 2025, AGS Airports was acquired by AviAlliance, one of the world’s leading private airport operators. Following the acquisition, AviAlliance announced a £350 million investment plan over the next five years to support the growth and decarbonisation of the AGS airport group, which includes Glasgow, Aberdeen and Southampton airports.
The investment programme includes:
- A full transformation of Glasgow Airport’s main terminal
- Airfield infrastructure upgrades
- Energy efficiency measures to support decarbonisation
These developments aim to enhance operational capacity and passenger experience while meeting future airline and customer demand.
