Kayak has launched another artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tool for travelers in the form of “AI Mode.”
The tool allows for natural-language search and combines Kayak’s data with ChatGPT, the metasearch engine said. Travelers can now access it by clicking the “AI Mode” icon on Kayak’s website via a desktop or mobile browser.
Users “type travel-related questions the way you’d say them to another person,” and AI Mode generates real-time results after Kayak compares information and prices across travel providers.

Travelers can then book their desired accommodations and transportation “all in one place,” Kayak said.
AI Mode follows the launch of Kayak.ai this spring. The company described the platform as a “test lab for AI-first features that’s make out product even more personalized and conversational.”
“We launched Kayak.ai in April for our software engineers to test cutting-edge AI capabilities. AI Mode is the first feature to graduate to our main site,” said Kayak CEO Steve Hafner.
“Travelers aren’t limited to preset entry fields anymore. Just tell us what you’re looking for in plain language, and we’ll answer the same way.”
Last March, the company also introduced AI tools such as Kayak Price Check and Ask Kayak.
